LA MEZCLA QUESTIONS AND VOS DJS ANSWER:
1. Where did the name Voice Of the Streetz come from?
The name Voice of da Streetz was given to us by the people in the streets. We were going by Just Dj Anwhut & The Mayor back in 2004. That same year we would be downtown passing out 5000 mix cds a month after the clubs got out. The people got use to seeing us and our mix cds every day. They started coming up to us and calling us The Voice of da Streetz. You do it for the people they said so the name stuck. “The Voice of da Streetz was branded to us.
2. How did you come up with the idea of VOS?
The dream of VOS has always been there. It may have been under a different name but the group itself has always been the same since middle school at the age of 14 years old we knew that we wanted to make a mark in history when it comes to entertainment industry. VOS is just the abbreviation of Voice of da streetz.
3. Where did VOS originally start?
We where 14 years old when the original idea came to life. A friend of ours from New York brought down a Dj Funk Master Flex tape he recorded on the radio. As soon as the tape was finished we knew at that exact point that we wanted to make the world dance! So for the past 14 years we have been bringing our vision to you which is VOS everything!
4. Which artist do VOS keep in touch with on a personal basis?
We like to keep in touch with all the artist we have worked with from G-Unit, Mobb Deep, Rick Ross, Pit bull, Jowell Y Randy, Jadakiss, slim from 112, Joe Budden, Joel Ortiz and producers like the Runners, Dj Nasty, Dj Khaled and Clinton Sparks, but the closest relationship we have built would be that of Slim from 112. We have deejayed many of his shows in Orlando. As soon as he is in town we get a call from him and we rock a show together. He has even placed us on his latest album credits called Love’s Crazy.
5. How do you feel being a company with such a wide variety of services?
We wouldn’t have it any other way. We don’t want to limit our self and only be known for one thing. Having our hands in many different services allows us to get involved in many projects and opportunities that many other companies would miss because of their limitations.
6. How does it feel being one of the most well known Dj/Producers/Promoters in the Orlando area?
It’s very flattering and humbling to be able to reach that level of success we have reached so far. I say so far because we have many more goals and dreams we are reaching for as well. It’s very unreal at times because at the end of the day we are just 3 young men with a dream. We work very hard at what we do. It’s a all day job, from producing and creating music, deejaying and staying up with the times and consistently updating out crates with new music to then promoting the 6 different clubs we Dj for in the streets, websites and social sites and networking meetings to make sure the people are aware of the hottest parties in Orlando.
7. What can we expect next from VOS?
You can expect more clubs, more events, more mix cds, more traveling and touring, radio & TV appearances and on a personal level new motivational fitness, health, trainings and counseling to inspire your life to Preserve the Sexy!
8. We’ve heard your name being mentioned on the radio constantly how do you feel being well recognized even on the radio?
It’s unbelievable to be appreciated in the radio market. Radio market is a very tough and tricky market to get into. There is a lot of politics and corporate tape that you have to get through to be able to be recognized by the radio. The radio expands your name to the masses and we appreciate everything and the opportunity to be the few that get that recognition by them.
